Our Story
In June 2023, I spent my medical elective working in Tamakoshi Hospital in Nepal, with some incredible emergency medics and nurses. After witnessing some key incidents whereby resource limitation was affecting patient outcomes we began to brainstorm areas where sourcing equipment, particularly medical devices, could improve patient outcomes and save lives. This kickstarted the RESUS Foundation, an initiative to provide emergency medical practitioners in remote hospitals with crucial equipment and training.

After pitching the idea to some colleagues at the University of Birmingham alongside some fantastic humanitarian and expedition doctors and paramedics we now have a great team. Our aim is to begin fundraising for emergency medical devices including defibrillators, airway devices and emergency medical equipment.

We hope the initiative will grow to be able to provide support to remote hospitals globally and improve the health outcomes of these local communities.
